REVIEW of Green People Skincare

Green People Lindsay Davison Blog review

Here we are, back with another skincare post – I feel like a do a lot of them lately, but I can’t say I’m complaining! This time I’m here to review Green People skincare products; a natural and organic skincare brand from founder Charlotte Vøhtz. I am so happy to see this becoming more and more of a norm in the skincare world – companies being completely transparent with their ingredients and striving to make them as earth-kind as possible! Green People offer a range of certified organic products. Their products contain up to 99% active natural and organic… and I’m here for it!

I was sent over the Age Defy+ Time Traveller Gift Set, which contains the Soft Buff Skin Exfoliator & Brightening Moisturiser. For all I’m not a huge fan of the ‘Anti-Aging’ marketing that brands still like to push (I consider aging a privilege personally!), I was chomping at the bit to try these! Also part of the review is the new-to-market Charcoal Face Mask, another product my winter-knackered skin is eternally grateful for!

Before I get into the full details, my review Green People Skincare was based on 14 days trialling the three separate products. I use the moisturiser once daily in the morning before applying my usual make up, the exfoliator every other day in the morning and the mask every three days before bed. With that in mind, let’s get started!

Soft Buff Skin Exfoliator (part 1 of 2 in the Time Traveller Gift Set)

Pros: Physical exfoliator – a controversial pro, I know, but I find chemical exfoliation really dries my skin out if I use it more than once a week (which I definitely need!). Luckily the exfoliator is micro fine bamboo, which is again a little controversial as apparently this creates hundreds of tiny cuts in your skin, which I more than fine with to be honest – that’s what I’d be using a derma roller for anyway!

Cons: There’s not LOADS in the bottle. I got a full sized sample and I feel like I might run out in a few weeks max. They do stipulate use a small amount, but hey – needs must with this face! I feel like I’d love to have a bigger bottle for this especially.

Favourite bits: I love the smoothing effect after using. I can’t stop feeling my face after using it! My face feels uber clean and super soft, and not at all dry – which is most important for me!

Works best for: infrequent use on all skin types. Green People stipulate that it’s ‘suitable for those who may be prone to eczema and psoriasis.’ Which is great!

Don’t bother if: You don’t like physical exfoliators – although I think you’re missing out!

Brightening Moisturiser (part 2 of 2 in the Time Traveller Gift Set)

Pros: Super hydrating that felt really long lasting. It is also said to be great for age spots and pigmentation, but I can’t vouch for this as I’ve not got any… yet! I used it before makeup every days for a couple of weeks and it really helped to combat the winter dryness I feel around my nose and chin throughout the work day. I felt like my skin looked and felt more consistent throughout the day, where I usually notice some really dry patches and some oiler sections before taking of my makeup.

Cons: Again, full sized bottle was a little small. For being an everyday use product, I’d really like to see this come in a bigger bottle.
Favourite bits: Perfect under foundation – I tried it under all three of my regular bases and it combined really nicely with them all.
Works best for: Normal to dry skin that needs a reliable dose of hydration that lasts the whole day!

Don’t bother if: You have super oily skin – I think it might be over kill for this skin type.

Charcoal Face Mask

Pros: Just for clarity, I only used this 4 times during the fortnight trial, but that was more than enough to show me its benefits! I would say it’s most close to the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess mask, just with less nasty chemicals (sorry CT, still love the mask…). My dry-prone skin can sometimes become so dry after a mask but my face felt bouncy with hydration every time I used this! I’d honestly use it every day if I could – big thumbs up from me.

Cons: Well, it’s black. Don’t use a white flannel to removal, alls I’m saying hun.

Favourite bits: The ease of comfortability of use – so easy to remove with a wet flannel, and felt great sitting on te skin while it was doing its magic.

Works best for: A deep satisfying cleanse after a long work week

Don’t bother if: You don’t want fabulous skin… I kid, great for every skin type!
